Hi, I’m Lindsay - The Food Allergy Professor.
I’m a nurse practitioner, professor, and mom to a child with a peanut allergy. When my son was diagnosed with a peanut allergy at just 10 months old, I felt completely overwhelmed. I wasn’t sure how to go out in public safely, and I couldn’t imagine dining out, traveling, or navigating life with two kids — one with an allergy and one without.
What foods were safe?
Would people understand?
How could I keep him protected?
That diagnosis changed our family’s world, and brought more questions than answers. I was fearful and unsure how to move forward.
What started as a personal journey has grown into a professional mission to make the world safer for food allergy families. That mission has led to:
Introducing food allergy education into the university where I teach
Spearheading the first statewide stock epinephrine program in daycares
Collaborating with national leaders and professional organizations
Staying at the forefront of food allergy research and best practices
Through The Food Allergy Professor, I combine clinical expertise, personal experience, and a heart for education to support families like yours.
Whether you’re navigating your first EpiPen, preparing for preschool, or wondering how to explain allergens to a grandparent — I’m here to guide you.
My mission is to provide clear, compassionate, and evidence-based support so that you feel less overwhelmed and more empowered to protect your child and live your life with confidence.
