<image:title>Blog - Our Peanut OIT Journey: What Food Allergy Parents Need to Know About Oral Immunotherapy - What Is Oral Immunotherapy (OIT)? Oral immunotherapy (OIT) is a treatment that gradually increases a child’s tolerance to a food allergen by giving carefully measured doses over time. For peanut allergy, this means: Starting with extremely small amounts of peanut protein Increasing doses under medical supervision Transitioning to daily maintenance dosing The goal of peanut OIT is desensitization — reducing the risk of severe reactions from accidental exposure. It is not a cure. But for many families, it provides an added layer of protection.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Our Peanut OIT Journey: What Food Allergy Parents Need to Know About Oral Immunotherapy - What Peanut OIT Actually Looks Like Many parents Google: “Is oral immunotherapy safe?” “Peanut OIT side effects” “What does OIT involve day to day?”</image:title>
<image:caption>Here’s what it really includes: Daily measured peanut dosing at home Monitoring for symptoms Temporary activity restrictions before after dosing Adjustments during illness Regular follow-ups with your allergist It’s a commitment. There are smooth weeks. There are nerve-wracking dose increases. There may be mild reactions. And yes, families must continue to carry epinephrine.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Questions to Ask Before Starting OIT If you're considering oral immunotherapy, ask: What is our goal… protection, anxiety reduction, flexibility, safer in school? How will daily dosing impact our routine? How does my child feel about this? How often are the appointments? Are there other appropriate treatment options?</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Our Peanut OIT Journey: What Food Allergy Parents Need to Know About Oral Immunotherapy - What I Tell Parents Now</image:title>
<image:caption>As both a nurse practitioner and a mom, here’s what I believe: You should ask about treatment options, this may mean asking more than one person if you are not getting an answer you want. You don’t have to justify your choice to anyone. And it is ok if you choose avoidance. There are other treatment options besides OIT that may be a better fit for your child. Whether you pursue peanut OIT or not, your child needs: A prepared parent A clear emergency plan A calm, informed advocate If you’re navigating peanut or tree nut allergy and feeling overwhelmed, I help parents move from fear-based decision-making to confident action. You don’t have to figure this out alone.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Your Child Was Just Diagnosed with a Food Allergy… Now What? - Hearing the words “your child has a food allergy” can feel overwhelming.</image:title>
<image:caption>Many parents leave the appointment with more questions than answers and immediately start searching online for what to do next. If that’s you, take a deep breath. Feeling anxious, confused, or even scared is completely normal. A food allergy diagnosis doesn’t just change what your child eats, it can affect school, social events, travel, and daily routines. It is okay to feel completely overwhelmed as your life seems to be turned upside down. But here’s the good news: Research shows that when parents feel confident managing their child’s food allergy, children experience a better overall quality of life. If your child was just diagnosed, here are some of the first steps many parents take.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Your Child Was Just Diagnosed with a Food Allergy… Now What? - 2. Start Learning How to Read Food Labels</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the most important skills for food allergy families is learning how to read ingredient labels carefully. Food allergens can appear in unexpected places, and ingredients may be listed under names you don’t recognize. In the United States, food manufacturers are required to clearly identify the top 9 major food allergens, which include: Milk Eggs Wheat Soy Peanuts Tree nuts Fish Shellfish Sesame However, there are still important details parents should understand when evaluating labels and avoiding cross-contact. Read this guide: How to Read Food Labels with Food Allergies</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Your Child Was Just Diagnosed with a Food Allergy… Now What? - 5. Telling Family, Friends, and Caregivers</image:title>
<image:caption>Another common question parents ask is: “How do I explain this to other people?” Many people simply don’t understand how serious food allergies can be. It may help to clearly communicate: What foods your child must avoid How to prevent cross-contact What symptoms to watch for What to do in an emergency You may need to repeat this information several times with different caregivers, teachers, and family members. This is a normal part of becoming a food allergy parent. To make this easier, I offer caregiver guides that parents can share with grandparents, babysitters, teachers, and other caregivers so everyone feels prepared. <image:title>Blog - Your Child Was Just Diagnosed with a Food Allergy… Now What? - Final Encouragement Right now, this diagnosis may feel scary. That’s normal.</image:title>
<image:caption>But over time, as you gain knowledge and build routines, food allergies become something your family manages, not something that controls your life. My son is not defined by his food allergies, but even at a young age he knows how to give himself his emergency medicine, how to advocate for himself, and how to ask safe questions about food. Those small skills build confidence, not just for him, but for our whole family. You don’t have to navigate this alone. I know firsthand how life-changing a food allergy diagnosis can be. That’s exactly why I created the Food Allergy Parent Survival Course,to guide parents step-by-step from fear and uncertainty to confidence and preparation.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Managing food allergies is about education, preparation, and empowerment, not perfection. I’ve had moments where I’ve purchased a pre-cooked bag of rice or sauce, only to get home and realize I missed the “may contains peanut” statement. That’s why it’s always important to double check. When you understand how to evaluate allergy-friendly foods, you reduce risk and build confidence for your child and your family. If you’re newly diagnosed or feeling overwhelmed, know that support and education make a meaningful difference.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - How to Test for Food Allergies: A Guide for Parents - Step 2: Common Types of Food Allergy Testing</image:title>
<image:caption>Skin Prick Test (SPT): A small amount of allergen is placed on the skin. A reaction (like a wheal or hive) suggests sensitivity. Blood Test (IgE testing): Measures the level of antibodies your child produces in response to allergens. Oral Food Challenge (OFC): This gold-standard test involves supervised exposure to the suspected allergen. Only done under close medical supervision. Important Notes About Testing A positive test ≠ an allergy. It shows sensitization, which needs to be interpreted in context. Never try food challenges at home without medical clearance. Allergy testing should always be done in collaboration with your medical provider. Bring questions, a written symptom history, and your parent intuition to the table. <image:title>Blog - New Hope for Toddlers with Peanut Allergies: Viaskin Peanut Patch Safety Study Begins - If you’re a parent of a toddler with a peanut allergy, the daily fear of accidental exposure is real. But exciting news is on the horizon! DBV Technologies has officially launched a promising safety study evaluating the Viaskin® Peanut patch in children aged 1 to 3 years.</image:title>
<image:caption>What Is the Viaskin Peanut Patch? This patch, applied to the skin, delivers a tiny, controlled dose of peanut protein with the goal of safely desensitizing the immune system over time. For parents looking for non-invasive peanut allergy treatment options, this could be an option. The Viaskin Peanut patch is a form of epicutaneous immunotherapy (EPIT). It works by delivering trace amounts of peanut protein through the skin—without requiring ingestion. This unique approach can help train the immune system to tolerate peanuts gradually. Unlike oral immunotherapy (OIT), which involves eating small amounts of peanut protein, the patch: • Is worn daily • Is designed for convenience • Minimizes the risk of serious allergic reactions This treatment could be especially helpful for toddlers. The newly launched study is a Phase 3, placebo-controlled clinical trial that will enroll 480 peanut-allergic toddlers in the U.S. Canada, UK, Europe, and Australia. This study will build on the previous EPITOPE trail that showed 2 out of 3 toddler could tolerate more peanut protein after one year of wearing the patch. If successful, the patch could be submitted for FDA approval by late 2026. Going to the allergist? <image:title>Blog - What Are the Top 9 Food Allergens? A Parent’s Guide - If your child has been diagnosed with a food allergy, or if you're just beginning your journey, knowing which foods are most likely to trigger a reaction is an important first step. The FDA has identified the following as the Top 9 food allergens in the United States: Peanuts Tree Nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, cashews) Milk Eggs Wheat Soy Fish Shellfish Sesame (added to the official list in 2023) These nine foods are responsible for the majority of food allergy reactions in children and adults.</image:title>
<image:caption>Why These Foods? Each of these contains proteins that are more likely to trigger an immune system response in people with allergies, ranging from mild skin reactions to life-threatening anaphylaxis. As a nurse practitioner and food allergy parent, I’ve seen firsthand how scary it can be when these foods are involved. The key is being informed, prepared, and supported. If you’re tracking symptoms or preparing for a testing appointment, I’ve created a free printable symptom tracker and food allergy testing checklist to help you stay organized.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Flying with a Peanut Allergy: 3 Tips for Safe Air Travel - Here are my top 3 tips for a safe air travel:</image:title>
<image:caption>1. Communicate Early: I called the airline ahead of our trip to share our situation and discuss their food allergy protocols. Under the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA), food allergies are recognized as a disability. This mandates that U.S. airlines provide reasonable accommodations to ensure safe travel for individuals with severe allergies. In our situation, they upgraded our tickets to priority boarding, giving us extra time to wipe down our seats, tray tables, armrests, windows, and shades – every spot a curious toddler might touch. Do your research ahead of time and make sure you choose an airline you are comfortable with. 2. Advocate Onboard: When we boarded, I informed the flight attendant about my child’s peanut allergy so we could be safe in the air. She kindly showed me the planned snacks, and after learning they were processed in a facility with peanuts, she quickly swapped them for a peanut-free option. Although the airline does not serve our allergen on board, snacks may still be made in facilities with allergens. The flight attendant even made a heartfelt announcement asking passengers to avoid eating all nuts during the flight. Most airlines do not serve peanuts but this does not mean that will guarantee a peanut free flight environment. On another flight, we faced a more challenging situation. A passenger seated directly in front of my food allergy child opened a large bag of peanut M&Ms. Given the risk of accidental exposure from seat backs, dropped pieces, or even airborne particles, I kindly approached the passenger and explained our situation. To my relief, they were incredibly understanding and immediately put the snack away, showing the power of compassionate communication. Don’t be afraid to speak up. 3. Pack the essentials plus an anxiety check: Traveling with a child who has a severe food allergy can be stressful, but having a support person with you can make a big difference. The anxiety is real, but refocusing, being prepared, and staying vigilant are essential ways to ground yourself during the journey. Consider deep breathing exercises, grounding techniques, or even supportive conversations with your travel companion to stay calm and present. See below for details!</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Can Kids With a Peanut Allergy Eat Tree Nuts? A Parent’s Guide to Safe Introduction - Why Should You Introduce Tree Nuts?</image:title>
<image:caption>1. Nutritional Benefits Tree nuts, like almonds, cashews, and walnuts, provide essential nutrients such as healthy fats, protein, and vitamins. These nutrients are crucial for your child's growth and development. Including a variety of tree nuts in your child’s diet can help ensure they're getting the nutrition they need. 2. Avoiding Unnecessary Restrictions If your child does not have an allergy to tree nuts, it's beneficial to include them in their diet. This helps maintain a well-rounded, varied eating plan and ensures your child isn’t unnecessarily limited by food restrictions. 3. Preventing New Allergies Research suggests that regular exposure to tree nuts (if tolerated) may help reduce the likelihood of developing new food allergies over time. Keep in mind that once you introduce tree nuts, it’s important to continue including them in your child’s diet to maintain tolerance.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Can Kids With a Peanut Allergy Eat Tree Nuts? A Parent’s Guide to Safe Introduction - Tips for Safely Introducing Tree Nuts to Your Peanut Allergic Child</image:title>
<image:caption>Before introducing tree nuts to your child, it's important to ensure that it is safe based on their specific allergy profile. In our household, we took extra precautions when introducing different nut butters. We used separate knives for each type of nut butter to prevent cross-contamination. We made sure to only use nut butters made in peanut-free facilities to avoid any risk of peanut exposure. We started with small amounts, slowly increasing the portion over time. One method that worked well for us was using a nut butter blend containing multiple tree nuts. This allowed my child to be exposed to a variety of nuts in one go. Any nuts not included in the blend were introduced separately as either nut butters or whole/cut nuts. We've also found granola blends made in peanut-free facilities that contain a variety of tree nuts – a great option for snacks! We make sure our child eats tree nuts regularly, aiming for at least three times a week. We incorporate nut butters into smoothies, baked goods like pancakes and muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, and cracker sandwiches. Occasionally, we chop up tree nuts and sprinkle them on top of fruit or pureed desserts for a fun treat. Introducing tree nuts to a child with a peanut allergy may seem daunting, but with careful planning and the right approach, it can be done safely. By consulting with an allergist, introducing one nut at a time, and ensuring that you're following safety precautions, you can give your child the nutritional benefits of tree nuts while minimizing the risk of allergic reactions.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Self-Care September: A food allergy parent’s guide for time management and goal setting - Time Management</image:title>
<image:caption>As a nursing professor, I begin each semester by discussing time management through a metaphor that illustrates life's priorities: rocks, pebbles, and sand. The "big rocks" represent the most important things in life—family, health, and close relationships. These are non-negotiable. The "pebbles" are significant but not as critical, such as work and school. Finally, there's the "sand"—the little tasks that fill up your day, like scrolling through social media or browsing online. If we focus too much on the sand and pebbles—the trivial, time-consuming stuff—we lose sight of the big rocks, the things that truly matter. But if we prioritize the big rocks first, we’ll still have room for the pebbles and, eventually, even the sand. I like to revisit this metaphor time to time and make sure I have my priorities correct. Do you focus on your big rocks first, and make time for the pebbles, and sand later? How can you make time for all these things? I like using a weekly planner with tear off sheets to organize each week and prioritize my big rocks. Click here for this planner.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Self-Care September: A food allergy parent’s guide for time management and goal setting - Goal Setting</image:title>
<image:caption>When setting new goals, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or take on too much at once. That’s where SMART goals come in. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. This framework helps you create clear, manageable goals that set you up for success. So, pick a goal that feels meaningful to you, and walk through the SMART process to ensure it's achievable. Maybe a goal could be to prioritize one of your big rocks? Here is an example of a SMART goal you can use as a template for yourself. Goal: "Improve meal planning for my child with food allergies." Specific: I will create a weekly meal plan with allergen-free recipes for my child. Measurable: I will plan 5 dinners each week that are safe, nutritious, and varied. Achievable: I will spend 1 hour each Sunday to plan meals and shop for necessary ingredients. Relevant: This will help reduce daily stress around meals and ensure my child eats safely and healthily. This framework is so imperative so that you can actually achieve your goal. If we make a goal too hard and not achievable, it likely won’t happen. For example, when someone wants to lose weight and sets a goal of losing 100lbs, it’s much harder to reach the goal and celebrate the success. But, breaking it down in bite size pieces using the framework makes it manageable and achievable. I’m a fan of journaling and here is a simple book to get you starting with your goals.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Read all about it, neffy spray is coming! - Neffy, the nasal epinephrine spray was released in August to treat allergic emergencies! It should be available to the public by late September. It comes in a nasal spray device instead of the traditional injectable form of epinephrine. Below are answers to your most frequently asked questions: Can my infant or child use neffy? Currently, neffy is only indicated for adults and children who weigh more than 66 lbs. What is the active ingredient in neffy? Epinephrine is the active ingredient in neffy and is also the same medication in epinephrine auto-injectors. It also includes Intravail® (dodecyl-maltoside) to make the low dose delivery possible. How many neffy sprays would I need to carry? Similar to epinephrine auto injectors, you would carry two spray devices with you at all times. If symptoms continued after administering the first dose, then you would use a second device. The second dose would be given 5 minutes after the first dose, if needed. Would I need to call for emergency medical help after using it? If neffy spray is used, you will need to get emergency help for further treatment (this should be discussed with your allergist as you or your child’s emergency care plan may have different instructions). Where do I spray neffy? Neffy is to be sprayed into the nostril. Does it work? Neffy delivers epinephrine, which is the only medication that can stop anaphylaxis. It should be administered as soon as symptoms of anaphylaxis occur. It starts working very quickly and relieves symptoms in a short time frame. To learn more about studies on neffy, read my past article title, “What is neffy?” Can neffy be used for seasonal allergies? Neffy spray is only to be used for severe allergic reactions also known as anaphylaxis.</image:title>
<image:caption>Neffy is an FDA approved medication and has went through clinical trials before being released to the public. I am personally very excited that this option is now available. It has so many benefits including 1) ease of use, 2) needle free, 3) compact and portable, and 4) fast acting. I am disappointed that it is not yet available for children <66lbs but I’m sure it will be in the near future. It will be interesting to learn more about the medication as people begin to use it. Talk with your allergist if this medication is right for you or your child.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - A new peanut allergy treatment in the future?</image:title>
<image:caption>IgGenix, Inc., a company focused on discovering and developing antibodies to address IgE-mediated diseases (like food allergy), recently presented data at the 2024 European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) Annual Meeting in Valencia, Spain. This presentation highlighted the capability to identify a monoclonal antibody-based therapeutic treatment for peanut allergy. Understanding IgE Antibodies IgE antibodies are important to the immune system’s reaction to allergens. When someone with a peanut allergy encounters peanuts, these antibodies trigger immune cells to release histamine and other chemicals, leading to allergic reactions. A special antibody therapeutic would block this response and prevent symptoms of peanut allergy. What did their data show? Their data showed the immune response was blocked when using the antibody-based therapeutic, which means it could potentially serve as a future new treatment option for peanut allergy. Looking Ahead This company plans to start its first human clinical trial for peanut allergies later this year. I will be monitoring the trial results and eager to see what the findings will be!</image:caption>

<image:caption>The new Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) Act of 2024 mandates that all commercial flights carry epinephrine auto-injectors. This update ensures life-saving treatment is readily available for passengers experiencing severe allergic reactions. Previously, some airplanes only carried epinephrine vials, requiring someone familiar with drug dosages to give the medication. Obviously, this former practice was unsafe, so having auto-injectors on the airplane is a big win for safety and peace of mind in air travel!</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - What is stock epinephrine and why is it important? - Millions of children and adults face the daily risk of severe, life-threatening allergic reactions, with 1 in 4 children experiencing their first reaction at school and nearly 1 in 5 children with known food allergies will have a reaction at school.</image:title>
<image:caption>Beyond food allergies, triggers like insect stings and medications can also cause anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction triggered by allergens in food or insect venom. Epinephrine is the only medication capable of stopping anaphylaxis. Stock epinephrine, is epinephrine prescribed to an entity, like a school. It can be administered to someone experiencing anaphylaxis, regardless if they have a known allergy or not. It is very safe to treat allergic emergencies and is available in easy to use devices called auto-injectors. Having stock epinephrine available is a vital step to save a life during an allergic reaction, especially if someone is unaware of their severe allergy. This initiative is dear to my heart which is why I've collaborated with a local daycare facility to pioneer Colorado's first stock epinephrine program outside of K-12 schools. If you're considering implementing a stock epinephrine policy in a daycare or school, here are four essential tips: Familiarize yourself with your state's regulations on stock epinephrine. Provide comprehensive training for daycare staff on recognizing and responding to allergy emergencies. Establish clear policies governing the administration and storage of stock epinephrine. Obtain epinephrine and ensure prompt access in case of emergencies. I believe education and preparedness are so important to protect children with food allergies. Having a stock epinephrine program allows you to save a life, if an emergency occurs. Does your child’s daycare or school have a stock-epinephrine policy in place? <image:title>Blog - Can I give tree nuts to my peanut allergic child? - Have you wondered about giving tree nuts to a child who has a peanut allergy? If your child has a peanut allergy, be sure to consult with your allergist or medical provider prior to giving them any new foods.</image:title>
<image:caption>If your child has a peanut allergy, you may also be advised to introduce tree nuts. The reason you should provide your child with tree nuts is to prevent the development of allergies to tree nuts. Research shows that 1/2 of children allergic to one tree nut are allergic to another tree nut ( McWilliam V, et al 2019). Tree nut allergies are more difficult to outgrow than peanut allergies as about 9% of children outgrow tree nut allergies whereas 20% of children outgrow peanut allergy (Children's National Hospital, 2024). Make sure you discuss with your allergist what tree nuts are safe to give your child before introducing any new foods. What tree nuts you provide your child will depend on conversations and testing that you've had with your child's allergist. Understanding the difference between peanuts and tree nuts can be confusing. A peanut is a type of legume, while tree nuts are not part of the legume family. You do need to be careful that tree nuts do not have cross-contact with peanuts prior to consuming them. I've found that specialty health food stores such as Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Trader Joes often have a variety of individual tree nut butters made in peanut free facilitates. You can also find breads, milk alternatives, and crackers that are made with specific tree nuts to help introduce these products. Amazon is also an option and there are some products with multiple tree nuts in one container so you can introduce many tree nuts at the same time. When you have been cleared by your allergist to give tree nuts to your child, rest assured that you have emergency medication available, your allergy action plan, and know how to monitor for a reaction. The key is to be consistent and give the other tree nuts approximately 3 times a week. Giving them one time does not mean your child will not develop the allergy. Keep calm and tree nut on!</image:caption>

<image:caption>This means that with time, your child may develop a tolerance to peanut protein and no longer have anaphylaxis if they are exposed to their allergen. Be sure to find a good allergist, one that is willing to spend time with you and do lab work so you can monitor your child's specific peanut IgE levels. These levels are obtained by a venipuncture (blood draw) and are typically performed every year. You can monitor if the levels go up or down. When peanut IgE decreases, your child may be a candidate for other treatments such as oral immunotherapy or an oral food challenge. Food allergies to milk and egg are more easily "outgrown."</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Is this rash an allergic reaction? - I’ve been reading some common concerns on social media regarding food allergies and one question that often comes up is, “Is this rash an allergic reaction?” Please see my response below.</image:title>
<image:caption>Always consult with your medical provider regarding any medical concerns. If your child develops a rash and any other reactions such as vomiting, swelling of the face, confusion, lethargy then this could be anaphylaxis. If you suspect anaphylaxis, the treatment is EPI FIRST, EPI FAST. If your child has an asymptomatic rash, meaning it has appeared with no other symptoms then there could be MANY culprits. Some common causes of infant rash include but are not limited to: Viral exanthem - This is a rash that occurs when a virus is present. Some viruses that can cause viral exanthem include common cold viruses, rubella, measles, mono, and chickenpox. A virus may cause other symptoms such as headache, body aches, fatigue, and sore throat. Viral exanthem is a wide spread red rash that may or may not be itchy. It typically lasts a few days to a few weeks and resolves on its own without any long lasting complications. The rash itself is not contagious but the virus that caused the rash may be. Atopic dermatitis - Atopic dermatitis is also known as eczema and causes dry, itchy, inflamed skin. This is a chronic condition characterized by times of no symptoms and then "flares." Eczema presents differently in infants and children. Infants often have dry, inflamed, itchy skin to the scalp, face, knees and elbows. In toddlers and older children, eczema is often in the creases of the elbows, behind the knees, and wrists. This does not accompany any other allergic reaction symptoms such as swelling of the face or mouth, shortness of breath, confusion. Food allergy is more common in children with eczema. Diaper rash - Diaper rash can become pretty severe and can also be complicated by fungal growth called candida diaper rash. Yeast and other bacteria are normally on your skin but yeast can overgrow in areas that are often moist. Diaper rashes can occur when the material on the babies skin is irritating, when the diaper has been wet for too long, or when harsh chemicals are in diaper and/or wipes. Diaper rash does not cause other symptoms of an allergic reaction and should not cause fever or rash to other parts of the body. Diaper rash improves with diaper rash cream, increased air to the area (think diaper free time when possible), and using a warm soft cloth to wipe or unscented baby wipe.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - How to enjoy dining out when your toddler has a food allergy - It is not always easy. We recently went to another town far away from medical care with additional family members and the restaurant appeared to be safe according to their online menu. It was a hole in the wall, three person ran saloon in an quaint mountain town. Once we sat down and received waters and everyone used the bathroom, I had the chance to talk with our server. She informed me that all foods are fried in a mixed oil that includes peanut oil. This could have been a scary situation if we didn’t know this ahead of time. So, we packed up and left. Luckily, we found a pizza place nearby as pizza typically is a safe option for our allergen (however, one pizza place I have called makes a peanut marinated chicken pizza). You never know, unless you ask. So don’t be scared to ask. I also had a backup lunch packed, just in case! Even with preparation, I’m still on high alert during a meal that was not prepared at home, especially when we are in remote areas. This is normal. Without being mindful that a reaction could happen, you may be unprepared to deal with a potential reaction.</image:title>
